I was going to be awesome this morning, since we had an awesome weekend (wait til you see what I bought!) and I cycled in and the sun is shining and I'm going to buy buttons later on (shush, I'm excited) and all kinds of stuff like that.

Sadly, my brain has decided it is not awesome, it is badbadbad and it doesn't want to play. I'm okay, or rather I will be, this too shall pass etc etc and I'm just trying not to eat my body-weight in cake while I wait it out.

*twiddles thumbs*

Anyone care to tell me how they're awesome? Come on, guys, cheer me up here! [/demanding]

Today I am awesome because I got up and got dressed. Haven't actually achieved anything beyond that yet - unless you count plaiting my hair and using new daisy bobbles *plays with* - but it's not midday yet. I have time...

I am awesome because I made a decision to stop telling myself (and everyone else) all the reasons I can't make progress with my horse, and find ways that I can.

Big obstacle: no x-wide saddle for my x-wide Percheron.

So I went to eBay last night and started looking at used Wintec Wides, and I think I can get one for about $200 plus $50 to ship it, and then I put the first $10 toward that into my savings account.

Other reason I'm awesome? I grocery shopped and did laundry yesterday despite being tired, and now I have clothes and breakfast food and am going to be on time to my job.

That sounds like a great plan. It's so much easier to find reasons for not doing things - managing to kick-start yourself into doing them is so HARD sometimes. Go you!

I'm awesome because I played the piano this weekend for the first time in ages. Which involved a fair bit of tidying and dusting first :)

I am awesome because I was doing my Immediate Life Support study day today - and I didn't interrupt except when I was asked to (is sometimes a problem when I think people are being thick). Ooh, and I thought of a question to ask in one of the scenarios (and a possible cause of cardiac arrest) that the resus trainer hadn't. I love it when that happens.

I'm awesome because I took my car to the garage for its MOT and picked it up and paid for it without once feeling like a hopeless girly who wanted a man to deal with it all for her.

Possibly this was helped by the fact that the people at the garage I was recommended by someone on dreamingspires were pleasant and friendly and non-patronising, unlike the jerks at the main dealer where I used to take it!

Today I am awesome because I've written 1300 words of Highlander fic in which Methos first meets Kronos, and it's still going strong. It also has a character in it who is going to die and isn't a bad guy, which isn't something I've done lately, and feel a need to prove to myself I can still do.
