It's Saturday lunchtime, and I have another 3 hours 50 minutes to go before I can leave work.

Man, I'm bored.

*twirls on chair*

I've reached that stage of boredom where you're so bored that everything interesting sounds boring, you know? LJ is quieter than the library, as is Twitter, and because I'm bored (did you guess that?), all my writing seems rubbish immediately I see it on the screen.

Ah well.

3 hours 40 minutes to go...

Sometimes, you just have to find *something* else to do...

What do you look for in an interesting tweet? Links? Or is it more of a volume thing?

P.S. I'm about to spend my Saturday editing a research paper on the topic of cholesterol. Wanna trade? *g*

It's a volume thing. I have 2 accounts, and both are almost silent.

...considering I just spent 40 mins wrestling with formatting at AO3, yes, at this point, I'd trade you...

I find formatting is a good thing to do when your brain won't cooperate with anything else, but when you're looking for stimulation, not so satisfactory. I'm sorry you're having a bad day.

I could spam Twitter with quotes from the cholesterol paper, but that would probably make you more bored. Did you see my link to this? Here's a page with a couple of cute things, and (I know I'm weird but) I spent a lot of time perusing this page with interest recently.

Did you sign up for the "Fic Walks Into a Bar" thing? I swore I'd do mine today, but Young Wizards was one of my fandoms on offer that wasn't picked, and this morning I woke up with a State of Play/Young Wizards crossover in my head that wants to be written immediately.

I am NEVER doing what I am supposed to. :(

I would love to be bored - I have an uncooperative story that I need to be shoved into shape, and it doesn't know where it wants to go.

*kicks story*

Have a fascinating story from Wired magazine about a criminal genius who really is a genius:

The Art of the Steal (http://www.wired.com/magazine/2010/03/ff_masterthief_blanchard/).

Although I'm not usually into tech-type things, I was glued to every word of this. It's a far-better real life story than any movie heist caper.
