jadesfire: Man with face obscured as he looks into an empty coffee post (Empty coffee pot)

1. I started my day strangely, and so didn't get a chance to sit down and write a post. I think that might be a good thing, because I felt very focussed at that point, while by now, my brain is dissolving jelly and I'm trying to summon up the energy to walk across the quad for coffee.

2. Also, I thought I'd got away with all the crunches at Pilates on Tuesday.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

aha

I'd laugh some more, but it hurts too much. In a good way! I also found the app My Pilates Guru, which is a terrible name for a good value app that finally does what I want. It will let me plan a custom session, or use one of theirs, while reminding me what the exercises are. Pretty good value for £2.99

3. Normally, November and February are terrible, awful, no good months. I'm not sure if it's having the Whole 30 to distract me, or if I'm just doing better this year, but we're almost a third of the way in, and I'm actually doing pretty well. It's more like I'm emerging from hibernation than pulling back into it like normal.

Of course, December and January were pretty horrible to make up for it, and I'm not quite over the fatigue-attack I had last week, but still. My headspace is better than it's been for years, so I'll take it.

4. It needs to be, because OH GOOD GRIEF my work is going nuts. It's all really good things. Dormant projects coming to life! Long forgotten projects suddenly being done! Ideas! Thoughts! Research! Oh, the research! My brain is fuller than it's been for years, and I'm finally making the time for some of the passion projects I've been talking about, which is good for my soul. Turns out, it's actually good for the library as well, which is a double-win, but it's using up all my spoons before I get home, which is less good. I need better pacing and some freezer dinners.

5. Therefore, I'm going to stop procrastinating, go get a coffee and come back and tidy my desk. That's always the best thing I can do when I'm overwhelmed. Once I can see the surface again, I think a colourful mind map is in order. I use three or four different list-making methods, depending on my mood, but today, I'm definitely up for multi-colour sharpies and a brain dump.

I'd say thank goodness tomorrow is Friday, but I'm working on Saturday afternoon, and am thinking I'll come in early to clear some of the oddments off my desk before next Monday. Since we launched into new projects, I haven't really had a chance to catch my breath, and sometimes I just need some time to adjust - to rearrange my desk drawers, reorganise the shelves and reset my brain. So instead I shall say: Nearly home time!

That sounds like a lot going on! Mostly in a good way though - I hope you get chance to catch up with yourself :)
