...giving me lots of excuses to use my duck icon.

EDIT: Shifted up because I'm having trouble believing my eyes. More pictures from the BBC Oxford website - we're now on a severe flood warning and there's more rain on the way. Please don't get me wrong - we are so much better off here than most of the region so I'm not worried about us. I'm just gaping at it all...

Latest piccies under the cut. It's risen about another two foot overnight, but I can still see grass. We're being warned about rising river levels and it's starting to rain again. I think. It's kind of hard to tell as I seem to have picked up a slight eye infection that is making my right eye feel like it's swelled to twice its normal size as well as being horribly scratched by my eyelid. So it's off to Boots with me, for eyewash.

And I may stop into the shoe shop to buy wellies...

This is yesterday's picture, where you can see grass.

No, I don't live on a lake - that should be the nature reserve.

Bonus piccie: One of our neighbours believes in being prepared.

(for those that know it, this is the Botley Road although I can't quite work out what stretch, seeing as how it's all covered in water...)

This is looking down Port Meadow towards Oxford

It's starting to look like New Orleans during Katrina...

I think the weird thing here is that it's all been so gradual. I mean, it's not total devastation by any means, but for a lot of people, they've literally been able to just stand and watch as the river gradually rises over their village. We're still a hell of a lot better off than NO - nowhere near that kind of trauma - and everyone's starting to talk about the 'Blitz spirit' which is usually a good sign. But it's going to get worse before it gets better...

*whistles* That's a lot of water.

I hope your eye gets better. At least you can touch-type :)
