jadesfire: Bright yellow flower (Happy - donna thumbs up)
It's going to be a funny old day. I have lots of stuff to get done, both fannish and work-related, and I also got this email in my inbox:

Cut for length )

Also, have I mentioned recently how awesome my work are? No? Well, since I'm sitting here basking in the glow of my lightbox, I really should have! It's tiny but very bright and I'm just trying to work out how to position it so that I feel the benefit without blinding myself. Something tells me that's important. ETA: Okay, I've only had it 45 minutes, and I'm already in love with it. Completely. It's tiny but oh, so bright. *basks*

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] greyias and are having too much fun. Seriously, you let two crack-inclined writers write together and anything could happen. I hope to get a big chunk of that fic done to today so that Grey's Photoshop efforts aren't wasted. *rubs hands together* This should be fun.

In between that, I'm working on the Wizard of Oz fusion, because it amuses me, and my [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa fic. Yuletide is lurking at the back of my brain but I'm going to need help for that one, I think, once I work out who to email for it!

And finally:

Voting on Round 3 of LFWS! I ended up being reasonably pleased with my entry this time, despite all the restrictions. See if you can spot me, and do leave some votes. Comments are now optional, so you don't need to give long justifications if you don't want to. Having said that, writers love feedback, and some useful stuff has come out of it, so do think about saying why you voted as you did, even if you don't comment on every story.

How's everyone else? And where are the the links to your wishlists, hmmm? I swear, I love giving presents even more than I love getting them :)

Have a good day, folks.

The results of Last Fic Writer Standing Round 2 have just come out and...

*drum roll* )

Anyway, now that all is revealed, I can cross post it here :)

Title:In Plain Sight
Words: 500 exactly
Rating/Spoilers: G/none
Notes: The challenge was to write a team H/C fic from an OC's point of view. Word limit was 300-500 words. Trust me, folks, this was hard.
Huge, huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] unfeathered and [livejournal.com profile] rustydog for swift beta-services.

Summary: Malir wasn't easily impressed.

Out of interest, did anyone know it was me? Apart from Rusty, I mean ;)

Everyone remember this?

Excellent! Because the first round of stories have just gone up. So here's what you do (because I know you all love me really)

1. Go to This post.

2. Open the many wonderful stories and read them. I'm opening them all in new tabs, but I'm like that. They're all dialogue only, and they're all short (3-500 words), so it won't take you long. If you feel so inclined, leave a comment with praise or concrit. Up to you.

3. Go to This post AGAIN and follow the voting instructions. VOTES MUST GO ON THIS POST, NOT THE STORIES! That last bit's really important. You can choose three favourites, and two least favourites. That's it. Easy.

4. Sit back and try to guess who wrote what. That's probably not as easy as it sounds...

Thanks! I have hopes of making it to at least the next round, but even if not, it was fun to take part :)
