Baaaaa

Because [livejournal.com profile] crystalshard and [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem did this one, and I was feeling left out.

Meme rules:
1. Pick 15 of your favourite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions. Totally cheating, you dirty cheaters.

My taste is very non-obscure, so I tried hard to find more unusual quotes, although sometimes I just had to go for the one I liked the best. Of course, you'll probably still get them in 2 minutes flat, but hey! I tried...

1. Gee, I'm glad you turned up, we've been looking inside every cake in town "Singin' in the Rain" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] minervasolo (and [livejournal.com profile] roga)

2. Three days? How many sins could you have committed in three days? Come back when you have more time, please.

3. When you're attracted to someone, it just means that your subconscious is attracted to their subconscious, subconsciously. So what we think of as fate is just two neuroses knowing that they are a perfect match.

4. I'm not a guppy "The Little Mermaid" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] roga

5. Ask for me tomorrow, and you shall find me a grave man. "Romeo + Juliet" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] bironic (Although apparently it's in "Shakespeare in Love" as well, so half a mark to everyone else ;))

6. It's not that I'm not a jealous man. I just don't like other people touching my things.

7.If you can't dance a step, you can't teach it, and if you can't teach it - we might as well all pack up and go home. "Strictly Ballroom" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] smtfhw and [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem

8. I confess, it is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weasely black guts out. "Pirates of the Carribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] msp_hacker

9. If you die, you'd forget me. I want to be remembered.

10. How could I forget about you? You're the only person I know. "The Bourne Identity" [NOT Finding Nemo!] guessed by [livejournal.com profile] sepia_words

11. I said *no* camels. That's *five* camels. Can't you count? "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] msp_hacker

12. You look down, they know you're lying and up, they know you don't know the truth. Don't use seven words when four will do. Don't shift your weight, look always at your mark but don't stare, be specific but not memorable, be funny but don't make him laugh. He's got to like you then forget you the moment you've left his side. And for God's sake, whatever you do, don't, under any circumstances... "Ocean's 11" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] msp_hacker

13. Hey, did you lose weight, or a limb? "Monsters, Inc." guessed by [livejournal.com profile] jack_magic

14. Real diamonds! They must be worth their weight in gold! "Some Like It Hot" gusessed by [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem

15. I told you they was organised. "Chicken Run" guessed by [livejournal.com profile] smtfhw

I'll check back in the morning to see how you're doing ;)

Not bad, not bad.

Yes to #8, #11 and #12.

Nice guesses on the others, but not quite :)

1. Singing in the Rain

All the other ones I know have already been recognised. I'm realy bad at this!

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Still, you got one! :)

didn't even check other people's comments first! go me.

[identity profile] roga.livejournal.com 2008-02-10 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Singing in the Rain! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ to infinity. I can finally stop suffering and write that symphony.

5. SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE omg I love that movie SO DAMN MUCH.

8. PoTC, I think? I think I've only ever gotten the first half of that sentence and the rest was jumbled up in accent, so I'm not sure.

10. So familiar, damn.

Re: didn't even check other people's comments first! go me.

[identity profile] roga.livejournal.com 2008-02-10 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
and ooh! 4. The Little Mermaid?

Re: didn't even check other people's comments first! go me.

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yup!

Re: didn't even check other people's comments first! go me.

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
1. I wanted to go with "There is nothing between us. There has never been anything between us. Only air." but it wasn't on the IMDB list, so I thought it might be cheating.

5. Hee. Following the discussion below, I'm afraid I have to tell you that it was Romeo + Juliet that I had in mind. I've only ever seen SIL once, and some of it has me cringing too hard to really enjoy it. :(

8. Yup.

10. *grin* I think that one's really going to flummox people...

Re: didn't even check other people's comments first! go me.

Man, I LOVE Shakespeare in Love.

Were you talking about the Bazz Luhrmann R&J version? Oddly, I didn't like it that much, though I loved Moulin Rouge and his La Boheme. The editing gave me a headache. Though I did love the music. And, um, Leo.

Re: didn't even check other people's comments first! go me.

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
I love the Baz Luhrman version - in fact, I love the whole 'red curtain trilogy' [*drops huge hint for quotes* ;)].

I'd seen Clare Danes in 'My So Called Life' and thought she was brilliant, but the pair of them just blew me away in R+J. The friend I went to see it with had never seen any Shakespeare before, and was convinced she wouldn't understand it - by the end, she was sobbing so hard, I had to give her the rest of my tissues ;)

1. Singing in the Rain

4. The Little Mermaid

5. Shakespeare In Love

6. POTC

10. Finding Nemo

11. Indiana Jones (I forget which one)

12. Ocean's 11 (<3)

13. Monsters, Inc

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
1,4,6,12 and 13 right!

5 - From the discussion below, I seem to have confused people with that one...

10 - nope ;)

11 - Yes - Last Crusade.

Pretty impressive!

I only know three and five -- except I can't place 3 and it is driving me crazy, and five I was going to say "Romeo and Juliet," but apparently that would be the wrong choice. *g* So I'm looking forward to finding out why I know 3.

[identity profile] roga.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
and five I was going to say "Romeo and Juliet," but apparently that would be the wrong choice

You might not be wrong! Since the quote is from both (or rather, SiL quotes R&J), the question remains which one [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 intended.

(And yes, I am strangely obsessed with this entry and am trying to think of quotes of my own. I love movie quizzes.)

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
3 is probably the hardest one on there. I deliberately didn't choose the most obvious quotes from the list, because the films are incredibly well known (I have very dull taste in films), but now I'm thinking that I made it too hard...

And you get the prize for 5 - I was thinking of Romeo + Juliet (Huge Baz Luhrman fan). Didn't even know it was in 'Shakespeare in Love' on account of only having seen the film once and not really enjoying it...

Oh, ha! And here I thought I was uncool for thinking of Shakespeare before Shakespeare in Love, which everyone seems to love for Colin Firth if not for Tom Stoppard. :)

I had to look up #3 last night before I went insane. I never would've guessed it, but it makes total sense, considering the number of times my dad has watched it.

[identity profile] smtfhw.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
15. Chicken Run...

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yes!

[identity profile] smtfhw.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
7. Has to be Strictly Ballroom.

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It does indeed :)

[identity profile] miss-zedem.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't believe no-one's got #14 yet - Some Like it Hot, n'est ce pas? Or am I being dim?

#7 - Strictly Ballroom? I've seen that film far more than is healthy, although not for many years...

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Dead right on both :)

I don't think anyone's going to get #3 or #9, but I'm shocked that no-one's got #6...

[identity profile] sepia-words.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
At this point I delurk (*waves*) because 10 looks so familiar. Is it from The Bourne Identity?

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
*waves back* Why hello there :)

Yes! It is! I understood why everyone thought it was Finding Nemo, but they're kinda different films :D
