*reaches pitches only dogs can hear*
Mar. 6th, 2008 03:01 pmI have watched "Something Borrowed", and while I enjoyed it, I am strangely without the urge to post a response. Except to pass on my thanks to the director who made JB look brain-meltingly gorgeous in pretty much every shot. I think it fried my critical faculties.
For those of you who've trailed through my fic, you might have spotted my Sapphire and Steel crossover story. From the age of about thirteen, I had a crush the size of the TARDIS (inside, not outside) on David Macullum, mostly from 'The Man from UNCLE', which I still adore. I picked up the videos of Sapphire and Steel in the library, solely because it had him and Joanna Lumley (who I'm also a big fan of, thanks to 'The New Avengers') on the cover. And I fell head over heels, all over again. I have the DVDs, and just thinking about it brings up the hairs on the back of my neck.
I still think 'Adventure Two' is one of the scariest TV serials ever made - DO NOT WATCH IN THE DARK! I mean it. My other half and I nearly fell of the sofa we jumped so high - and PJ Hammond, when he can rein himself in, is an incredible writer. I loved 'Small Worlds' last season, and I'd seen all of 5 seconds of the preview before I knew he'd written it. I also have a thing about circuses (blame early exposure to 'Barnum' and a childhood visit to the Chinese State Circus). And Jack back-story.
So, not much to say this week - I need to save it up so that I don't die of squee next week...
