It's absolutely tipping it down here today. Do you think it knows that I'm going to have my hair cut? *glares at weather*

Before I fell asleep in front of the computer last night, I managed to get some stories recorded. They're slightly longer than usual, and took even longer to record and edit. I plan to start recording some really long stuff (yes, [livejournal.com profile] travels_in_time, this means you ;)) once the Amplificathon challenge is over and I feel I'm up to it. In the meantime...

*giggles* Blue and bobbly? I don't want to know...

And yes, the weather always knows when you're going to have your hair cut, just like it knows when you want to mow the lawn/wash the car/hang the washing out. It's a conspiracy, I tell you!

*g* Believe it or not, that was a description of food - blue and blobby. Ask Smithy, it was her idea ;)

*sigh* My nice ringlets are now either flattened by my hood or bedraggled by rain. It's definitely a conspiracy!

Just letting you know that I've been *really* enjoying your audiofics. It's so hard to find anyone who has an accent/voice that doesn't annoy me, or doesn't speak too fast, or being so completely monotonous that I fall asleep listening to them, so YAY that you'll be recording more!

Oh, love your Dalek voice! :D

Thank you so much! Recording is a funny thing - when you write a story, you get feedback, but you very rarely get it for reading, so I'm delighted to know that you're enjoying them. Trying to get the balance between not going over the top and getting enough feeling in there is tricky, so I'm glad it's working for you!

*g* I had no idea what to do about the Daleks, and debated putting some kind of effect on the words, but everything sounded so silly, I decided to just trust that people knew what a Dalek *should* sound like and let their imaginations do the work. What can I say? I'm lazy ;)

I've wondered about that too - in a DW audiobook I listened to recently, they put some distortion on Freema Agyeman's voice for one character, and I thought, "Hey, that' cheating!" Heh. But actually it could be a good technique if the resources were there.

Looking forward to these too - I'm finding it's hard to get enough uninterrupted time to have a good listen lately, but I'm almost there. :)

It's definitely a good idea for professionals - they give 'Death' in the Terry Pratchett books a bit of an echo on his voice that really works, but for most of us, I think we require the listener to do a bit more work ;)

Enjoy the outtakes - I have lots and lots of them, but these were definitely the best :D

And that's what audio is all about, like reading with one more dimension. Yay imagination!

Hee. Thanks for sharing those outtakes. "Blue and blobby" is hard!

I had to say "ritual humiliation" about fifteen times and I sounded like I had a mouthful of marbles. Kind of wish I had saved that copy! (It seems I'll get another chance at screwing it up, though - there's a horrible crackle on "Some Assistance Required" that I've never gotten before. ::headdesk:: Heh.)

What's bad is that for the stuff I'm working on now, that story is starting to look kind of short...*facepalm*

Oh, hey, you come with your own bloopers reel now! :D

hee. Well, I'll start with the one I know and go from there.

I don't save most of the bloopers, but those were some of the better ones. DVD extras and everything. Only the best around here :)
