And just for you guys, a tiny outtake. This is fairly typical of the whole story, I have to say, because with 4 narrators and so many words, I found myself tripping on stuff that doesn't normally cause me a problem...

Notes: With HUGE thanks to [livejournal.com profile] perspi, not only for letting me read her work, but for combining her two wonderful stories Within Your Arms and Beneath Your Heart into one single story for me to read. Technically, this has been jossed by S5 canon, but I prefer this version.

So that's where you were - recording podfic! *grin*

When did you get properly back online? Have you been back for a while?

Heh, and editing it and trying not to fall over from work-related tiredness.

We got connected again properly on Thursday *hugs internet* but we were doing chores all day yesterday and today, so not much time to get online. But I'm at home with nothing to do for a week...*rubs hands together* this could be fun!

I know! It wasn't the recording that was a problem, actually, it was the editing - it's really tempting to edit as you go but that doesn't really work in Audacity, plus it would break up the flow. But an hour's worth of material take at least an hour and a half to edit :S Still, I think the story's worth it :)

Only an hour and a half to edit? I would have expected at least three! Still, that's a lot. I'm looking forward to listening.

Hope you enjoy!

*giggle* I just hope you enjoy it! There should be a permanent link once [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur sees the post, so I'll let you have that once I've got it.

I had an absolute blast - thank you so much!

You have no idea how glad I was to download it this morning and put it on my ipod before I went to work, cos it's been a SAVIOUR I tell you. I was so completely out of it today that the podfic actually helped me concentrate on work and no fall asleep reading through client's file. I had my audioific playlist on repeat, and since 90% of the fics in there are read by you, I guess it's not a stretch to say you got me through the day. ;)

So, thank you!

And for comments regarding this fic, OMG, I love your Rodney voice! The whole panicking thing, and high pitch yells, and everything! And in contrast to that, Teyla's calmness, and frustration, it all came through fantastic! And yes! Rodney with toothbrush/toothpaste impression, BRILLIANT!

I can safely say you've ruined me for other podfic readers. I've downloaded a few others, and they've all been "read too fast", "weird accent", and basically "no, that's just not how Jade would do it, she wouldn't have read it all so FLAT." :P

Okay, so I'm already a pile of goo from watching the Shrine and this, just... *flaps hands happily*

I have way too much fun with the character voices - I can't do accents or impressions, but people's speech patterns are so distinctive, I can't help myself on that front. I'm delighted beyond measure that you enjoyed it, and thank you so much! People (rightly) comment more on fic than podfic, so it's all kinds of awesome to know that the way I'm reading is working. And you're not the only one to be fussy about readers - there are about 5 people who I trust to read things 'right' and they may even tempt me into fandoms I've never seen!

Sorry you're so out of it at the moment, and really glad I could help - you just made my week. Totally. Thank you!

Oh dear, I still haven't watched SGA! I don't know why, but every time a show gets cancelled, I stopped watching it. I pile up the eps like I'm keeping them for a rainy day in the future where there won't be any more new eps, and I'll be able to watch a "new" ep. It's weird. I put off watching the last 4 eps or so of Farscape for TWO YEARS. It's insane. I'm insane. LOL!

Ohh... do share! I'm always in search of good readers but I haven't really the time to go through all the podfic coms, and unlike fic, there aren't any rec-list out there (that I know of) for podfics.

And honestly, I don't know why people don't leave more feedback for podfics. It takes time, it takes effort to come up with it, and it's harder than it looks to do a decent podfic! :D

I realised I never came back to answer you, sorry! The readers I trust you probably already know - dodificus and zoetrope who read SGA fantastically. I also like thingswithwings' reading of "all these places we have met" by toft_froggy and Pru's (rageprufrock) reading of "Bang" is my favourite audiofic, ever. I've also listened to some of anatsuno, the_oscar_cat and villanny's readings lately and really enjoyed them. Apparently I have a thing for non-American accents. Except rustydog's which I completely adore ;)

You probably know all these already, but they're what's on my player at the moment. I have about 6GB of audiofic on an 8GB player. I think I may be addicted...

Oh, actually, other than Pru, I haven't tried any of the others (and I find Pru sometimes read a tad too fast, but her voices are rather fun). I went and downloaded the one you mentioned, listened half of it on the way to work, then the 2nd half AT work, and OMG, I really shouldn't have done that, cos the ending almost made me cry! I need to go find myself some fluffy funny stories now!
