The world is a fascinating place...
Sep. 4th, 2008 05:16 pmGinger fest!
ETA: And from BBC Wales
Train Travelling Dog is 'A Big Hit'
Bless!
Also, I've just been turned down for a new mobile phone contract because of some credit-related reason (they won't say what).
What?
No, seriously. What? The only debt I have is my student loan. No credit cards, no mortgage, nothing. I think this means that I have no credit history. Apparently, for a mobile phone company, this is worse than having a bad one.
Either I'm getting madder or the world is...

Date: 2008-09-04 05:18 pm (UTC)We're going to see if the other half has any luck first, but yes, that's a really good plan. *rubs hands together* most cunning, thanks.

Date: 2008-09-04 05:39 pm (UTC)Whut?
Also, Phones4U is useless. I was with them once, and they made a complete mess of my contract. These days, I go direct to source. I find I get a better deal direct from the providers.

Date: 2008-09-04 05:46 pm (UTC)We're going to give them a go, because they are SO much cheaper than anywhere else. And since my last couple of contracts have been through retailers, I can't get good deals directly from the networks. Which is a pain :S
But I really like the phone, so am keeping my fingers crossed for this one!

Date: 2008-09-04 06:45 pm (UTC)Gingerfest - ooh! Bravo to them! It's still odd to me to run into the idea that red hair is a difficulty to be overcome (or defiantly embraced) but Gingerfest sounds great anyway. *g*

Credit is so weird. I was advised to get a couple of credit cards and carry a balance on them, even for a little while, so I could build up a credit history. I had had one card for years and had always paid it on time, because that's what you're supposed to do! Only not if you want a phone company to trust you, apparently. ::eyeroll::

Date: 2008-09-05 08:45 am (UTC)I think the ginger thing is more of a UK thing, but yes, it sounds awesome.
We're looking into getting a credit card for that very reason (as well as the insurance thing for stuff bought online) It's just nuts!

Date: 2008-09-04 09:00 pm (UTC)That'll do it. They really don't like that.
