I was going to tell you all about my exciting weekend (shops! escalators! cauliflower"), but I've been hit by the lurgy, so am trying to get all my work done before I go home to curl up with my duvet and the biggest cuddly toy I can find. Let's just say it was good in all kinds of ways and consider this a placeholder for a full post at a later date.

What I will say is that I have the awesomest flist in the history of awesome. I love getting post more than I care to admit, so imagine my excitement to get home on Sunday to find:
- A pretty, pretty postcard from [livejournal.com profile] naye. I definitely get why you like it there! Thank you :D
- A cute, pretty postcard from [livejournal.com profile] rustydog complete with original artwork! I'm saving it so I have an original when she's rich and famous ;) I've stuck it up at work so it makes me smile all day - thanks, hon!
- Cryptonomicon via Amazon from [livejournal.com profile] nnwest. I've wanted to read this for *years* but never got around to it - am going to take it to Morocco with me so that I can really sink into it properly. Thank you!
- A care package from [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem with many shiny, pretty things. I think it's possible that I'm the most spoiled LJer in history but since I have teeny tiny highlighters which are the cutest thing ever, I'm finding it hard to care... *smishes you*

As usual, in lieu of actual content, have some links:

- Go watch this awesome Jack/Doctor* vid by [livejournal.com profile] hllangel to "I Know Him So Well" sung by John Barrowman and Daniel Boys. It's just...it's like the song was made for this vid. Go watch and squee!
- Go read the LFWS entries now that all has been revealed. My entry was Panacea, and I came a highly respectable 5th considering how quickly I wrote the story and that I didn't have it beta'd.
- What Not To Buy received a very lovely rec over at [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_house. If you haven't explored that comm yet, and if it isn't too weird to rec a rec comm, then let me urge you to do so. I took the newsletters off my watch-list, so I only read from my flist, [livejournal.com profile] calufrax and TWHouse nowadays. This is not a decision I regret.

*Properly Jack/Doctor, covering Nine as well as Ten and working so very, very well

Also, would anyone be able to give a quick turnaround (ie 24 hour) beta on an SGA crack fic, image- and silliness-heavy? [livejournal.com profile] greyias and I are very, very nearly done (assuming we didn't wear out her graphic tablet and/or our brains at the weekend) but we definitely need someone to make sure we're only making fools of ourselves with content, not spelling and grammar as well ;) Can anyone help? *flutters eyelashes becomingly*

How was everyone else's weekend? Do anything exciting? Tell me everything - I'm ill and have nothing else to do.

ETA: LJ appears to have turned my comment notifications off, at least for my own journal. Nice.

If you can bear me after last time I can certainly run a speedy eye over it, this evening/tonight.

Lurgies are bad *sends male of your choice with meds*

cauliflower?
...it's not a long story, just a weird one. Although in my mother's house, nothing seems quite so strange any more. Not after we unrolled the spare duvet to find a broken smoke alarm nestling in the middle of it...

Ooh, that would be awesome, thanks. Will see how Grey's doing and send it along asap. Much appreciated.

Lurgies are rotten, and I'm officially the world's worst patient, so that's going well... More drugs are definitely good, thanks :)

Nothing could be weirder thatn pavlova bases floating on a bowl full of dishwater - these are the things that happen at parents' houses.

No probs I am having a reading binge - or more precisely having absolutely no problems with reading right this moment so I must make use of it while I can :D

Drugs are always good - my middle son has had man flu for nearly a week now the poor lamb. Not that it stopped him going to Norfolk at the weekend!
