I was going to tell you all about my exciting weekend (shops! escalators! cauliflower"), but I've been hit by the lurgy, so am trying to get all my work done before I go home to curl up with my duvet and the biggest cuddly toy I can find. Let's just say it was good in all kinds of ways and consider this a placeholder for a full post at a later date.

What I will say is that I have the awesomest flist in the history of awesome. I love getting post more than I care to admit, so imagine my excitement to get home on Sunday to find:
- A pretty, pretty postcard from naye. I definitely get why you like it there! Thank you :D
- A cute, pretty postcard from rustydog complete with original artwork! I'm saving it so I have an original when she's rich and famous ;) I've stuck it up at work so it makes me smile all day - thanks, hon!
- Cryptonomicon via Amazon from nnwest. I've wanted to read this for *years* but never got around to it - am going to take it to Morocco with me so that I can really sink into it properly. Thank you!
- A care package from miss_zedem with many shiny, pretty things. I think it's possible that I'm the most spoiled LJer in history but since I have teeny tiny highlighters which are the cutest thing ever, I'm finding it hard to care... *smishes you*

- Go read the LFWS entries now that all has been revealed. My entry was Panacea, and I came a highly respectable 5th considering how quickly I wrote the story and that I didn't have it beta'd.
- What Not To Buy received a very lovely rec over at torchwood_house. If you haven't explored that comm yet, and if it isn't too weird to rec a rec comm, then let me urge you to do so. I took the newsletters off my watch-list, so I only read from my flist, calufrax and TWHouse nowadays. This is not a decision I regret.

Also, would anyone be able to give a quick turnaround (ie 24 hour) beta on an SGA crack fic, image- and silliness-heavy? greyias and I are very, very nearly done (assuming we didn't wear out her graphic tablet and/or our brains at the weekend) but we definitely need someone to make sure we're only making fools of ourselves with content, not spelling and grammar as well ;) Can anyone help? *flutters eyelashes becomingly*

How was everyone else's weekend? Do anything exciting? Tell me everything - I'm ill and have nothing else to do.

And thanks for the rec! Nothing Jack/Doctor is complete without both Nine and Ten, because Jack has the same feelings (if not the exact same relationship) for both.

I absolutely agree with you, but it's amazing the number of fics that ignore the continuity. Nine may only have had one season, but so much important happened, it seems so odd that it gets left out - I see far more Jack/Ten (good Jack/Ten, but so much of it!) than Jack/Nine, although happily not on my flist :)

I love the relationship between Jack and Nine, especially because Rose is in the mix and it makes things that much more complicated, and there's that much more UST. It makes for much better angst.

Jack/Ten has it's place, for sure, but I believe it gets more play because more people are attracted to David than Chris. Which is utter shite. Both are attractive in different ways, and Jack is equally attracted to both.
