Thank you so much for last night guys. Recently, I've been getting the prods I need to get myself sorted out, so I'm going to try to get on that really soon.

Today I have been awesome because I have done the ironing. I HATE ironing.

And because I always do what my flist tells me to, allow me to promote:

International Fannish Feel Yourself Up Day

Gals, if you're not checking for lumps on a regular basis, get right on that. Quickly, please. Too many folks I know are being hit by cancer right now. This one's for [livejournal.com profile] fan_eunice, who's just starting to fight this sucker. And Guys, keep an eye (or, you know, hand) on the relevant parts of your anatomy too, okay? (that means armpits too - lymphoma's actually more common in men) You find anything, you go right to the doctor's, you hear me? I don't care if you think it's nothing. I don't care if you think you're being stupid. That's a helluva lot better than the alternatives. Go.

Other things roll on apace, including my growing love for Supernatural. You guys who promised me recs, I think I'm ready for them now (I'm up to 2.08 "Crossroad Blues" so no major spoily fics, tx). I'd particularly like podfic recs if you have them, since I'm about to spend a while on trains and away from home, and could use good fic to listen to. I know the stuff on my Zen practically off by heart by now.

ETA: Okay, please could more people with microphones start recording in the Gen category? Please? Because it's getting embarrassing to click on the Torchwood:Gen category and have to scroll past all the fics I recorded. I mean, I recorded them because I love them, but it's weird listening to your own voice...

So that's two ways you can be awesome for me today. How else have you been awesome?

I make my daughter do most of the ironing, so \o/ that you got that done. I hate ironing.

Erm, I am awesome because.... OH! I made some icons and a vid. So I was creative yesterday, and today I cleaned out a closet.

I tend to save up the ironing, put a good DVD on and just plough through it. It's still rotten, but at least I'm using the time productively ;)

You make great icons :D Definitely awesome!

Supernatural gen fics ahead!

I'm a sucker for wee!chester/ kid fics so two of those:
Under a haystack verse (http://janissa11.livejournal.com/tag/under+a+haystack) (they're tagged, scroll to the bottom for the first) Dean is de-aged
Like the Tides (http://rivers-bend.livejournal.com/367054.html) of My Life and remix Can't let it go and can't get through (http://rivers-bend.livejournal.com/367467.html). (both very short- Dean leaves marks where ever he goes)
Rumspringa (http://july-july-july.livejournal.com/34916.html)- Dean, at 16, heads off on his own
Summer camp (http://gigglingkat.livejournal.com/152650.html) (things go badly when John sends Dean to summer camp)
Real Men Don't Make Cheesecake (http://apocalypsos.livejournal.com/1086261.html)- Teen!Dean takes Home Economics (you will LOVE THIS)

Arctic Radar (http://musesfool.livejournal.com/1492997.html)- Dean knits

umm, need others?

Oh as as for spn podfic, this post should point you to some:

I have a plastic info hanger in my shower to remind myself to feel myself up regularly. It has diagrams and everything, so it's a bit embarrassing when male relatives spend the night, but then I figure maybe that will remind them to remind their loved ones and hopefully check themselves out too.

My awesome has been on hold lately, but today I am going to a movie with my step-nephew, and apparently one of the huge thrills for him (aside from the actual movie) is that he gets to go with me, so that's probably some sort of passive awesomeosity, anyway.

Today I have been awesome because I have done the ironing.

I bow before your awesomeness! (I join you in the hatred of ironing.)

I'm with you on the sadness of Sam/Dean being the dominate force of SPN fic (sibling incest squicks me.) :( So I'm going to follow this post and mooch recs off of it :)

I have found a few gen fics:

Dean gets turned into a unicorn (http://rionaleonhart.livejournal.com/145255.html?format=light) (Because I haven't watched the show I have no idea what happens when, so the story notes include this warning: Spoilers for 'All Hell Breaks Loose Part Two'.)

part 1 (http://kellifer-fic.livejournal.com/87994.html?format=light) and part 2 (http://kellifer-fic.livejournal.com/142298.html?format=light): Dean gets turned into a doll (and guess what, Dean can't curse in doll form!). No spoilers.

What to Expect When Your Impala's Expecting (http://epeeblade.livejournal.com/459415.html?format=light). Carpreg! According to the writer it takes place about mid-season 2.

Snuffleupagus (http://kellifer-fic.livejournal.com/188090.html?format=light) Author summary: Sometimes imaginary friends... aren't. No spoilers. I really like this one.

Follow Through (http://cupiscent.livejournal.com/380236.html?format=light) No Spoilers. Slightly angsty. A good look at the characters of teenaged Sam and Dean.

A Yarn (http://the-oscar-cat.livejournal.com/488735.html?format=light) I think I might start collecting fics that involve knitting (between this and my decision to collect fics involving fuzzy bunnies I'm beginning to think I do odd thematic lists...) No spoilers.
