Today, my sucky brain chemistry has prevented me from being awesome. I'm loving the irony of needing professional help and not being up to asking for it *sigh* One for tomorrow.

Also, whoever it was who wanted the 'Five motels that the boys never stayed in' fic, thank you. If anyone needs me, I'll be buried in the 8,000,000 motel tabs that I now have open.

*burrows happily*

Recognising that you need professional help is worthy of making you awesome. So few people are able to allow themselves even that and live in denial. It's a difficult step to make, give yourself credit, the courage to ask for it will come. You might not feel awesome, but you clearly are :)

Today I was awesome because I managed to avert a public meltdown while trying to choose the perfect gold acrylic paint from four different shades of gold for paintings I'm getting paid to do.

*gives you the stamp of awesomenity*

*grins* it is awesome (but that was my awesome post from yesterday *winks* so I didn't like to brag lol) I'm torn between the excitement and the terror of it. It'll be the first time I've ever been paid to paint.

You left me helpful comments on my BB draft - that's awesome! But yes, it does suck that the time you need help the most is usually the time you're least able to ask for it *hugs*

I would like to tack on my agreement with [livejournal.com profile] azure_chaos that you are awesome because you understand you need the help. And a giant big hug for the second part, because oh, I know how you feel, I really do.

And I still have that list of gen SPN case and fluffy fic recs if they're needed (mostly S1, since that's when I was heavily into fic reading). *dangles temptingly*

As you may have been able to tell, I've been a slight flap for the past 48 hours, but I'm starting to come down the other side and YES! Recs would be happily welcomed and embraced, thanks :)

Damn, I need some SPN icons...

I do admit to being a teensy bit concerned, but I'm glad you're doing a little better today.

For a general author rec, I present to thee, P.L. Wynter (), who writes lovely casefic with fun brotherly interactions for her longer stories, and the shorter ones I've read usually pack a punch of some sort (either funnay or touching).

My absolute favorite of hers is "Bite", which is pre-series, and a great look at the boys as teens, plus a complex, tough John Winchester. It's also atmospheric, creepy, and managed to give me goosebumps. I also recommend "Foreseen" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2705943/1/Foreseen) and "Piggy" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2784497/1/Piggy), which are also good casefic.

Forgive Me (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2672998/1/Forgive_Me) by Ridley C. James is also a good pre-series casefic. (I have a slight crush on John Winchester, I'll admit it.)

For nose-snortingly funny one-shots, I'd check out Koschka's two SPN fics: Walking to Albuquerque (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3988737/1/Walking_to_Albuquerque) and its sequel Purple Rain and the Greyound Blues (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4032815/1/Purple_Rain_and_the_Greyhound_Blues).

And... I can't seem to find the one shot and author that just about killed me ded with laughter. This is so going to bug me. I will return with a link on that if I ever find it.

Ah research. *snickers* I spent three hours the other day googling trying to come up with what sort of alcohol the Master (Delgado) would drink.

Am I writing anything where the Master drinks you ask?

Of course not, silly!

(I decided on a bottle of 1938 Mortlach single malt btw)

You're like the sourdough bread starter of awesome, luv. A little carries over to every new day. *hugs* You will get around to asking for help soon.

My day of awesome didn't strike until late because I had an all-day headache, a doggie with a sore back and a greedy cat who threw up six times on the rugs today, but I discovered I can order sewing patterns online for WAY less than in the store, and I don't have to drive 50 miles round trip (we live in the middle of nowhere) to the fabric shop.

*raises hand* Ah, that would be me? I'm glad you're enjoying it? I'd like to say that I gave that prompt to you knowing your love of research, but really, I just thought it would be fun for you to do, so my subconscious is either awesome or lucky :)

My awesomeness today is that I haven't driven my flatmates insane -- I'm at the point in the 'flu where I'm well enough to be cranky and sick enough to have no attention-span.

Today, my sucky brain chemistry has prevented me from being awesome. I'm loving the irony of needing professional help and not being up to asking for it *sigh* One for tomorrow.

*hug* I second what everyone else has said. It takes incredible personal awesomeness to tell oneself -- let alone the entire internet -- that one's brain is in need of professional help. *pompoms of awesomeness*

---Well-meant but completely unsolicited advice follows. Feel free to not read.---

If you don't feel comfortable asking for professional help right now, even though you think you need it, then I'd suggest asking for it the next time you feel strong enough for it. This might seem kind of odd-- asking for help when one is at a high point, but then the next time that one is at a low point there is already a help-structure in place. Plus also, even at a high point there is usually ways to improve even on that, which is also good. (Sorry for if this is somewhat incoherent, I blame the 'flu. But I really wanted to say this and not put it off until I was feeling better because by then I'd've likely forgotten.)

My little bit of awesome has been adding a new phrase to my vocabulary: "My brain is trying to kill me." I've found that it help me take that commentary in my head that tells me that everything is pointless and hopeless and put it outside of myself.
