Supernatural Podfic recs

As most of you know, I have a podfic addiction, and since I don't have the time for recording right now, I've been doing a lot of listening. I've been listening to SPN fic mostly, as I've been starting to get into the show and don't have time to read fic either.
Although most of these stories will probably be old news if you've been around the fandom a while, they're also ones where I'd specifically recommend the podfic version (if you like audiobooks, of course). Because this is me, they're all Gen, but they range from the downright silly ("Of Unconventional Dealbreaking" is the silliest and is glorious in its silliness) to the dark and moving.
I'm still working my way through the Supernatural:gen tag at the audiofic archive, so more when I reach the end!
I've linked to both the MP3 and 'Audiobook' versions of fics. The latter are meant particularly for iPods, and will do things like show you the covers and bookmark your place when you stop.

Some Goth teenagers accidentally resurrect John Winchester. No, seriously.
This was the first fic I listened to, and it got me hooked on SPN fic. I think it's the lightness of touch in the story, which is both funny and worryingly believable for what teenage girls can get up to when left unsupervised.

Steve McQueen was dyslexic.
It took me two attempts to listen to this, but I'm glad I had the second go. For me, the story really kicks off in the second half - one of the good things about fic for me is helping me to understand Sam, who I find tricky on the screen. And in this, we get a different side to him, and the contrast between him and Dean is vividly and movingly portrayed.

SPN Gen, involving Wee!Dean being wee, and pie.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS IN PUBLIC. The number of people I walked past who gave me *very* strange looks while listening to it. But like all the best funny stories, it also delivers a serious emotional kick that really works.

The Game is a Stanford tradition, but Sam’s first Hallowe’en away from his family won’t just be puzzles and innocent sleeplessness. Is he hunting for clues, or is something hunting him?
I was very ambivalent about this fic after I'd first listened to it, but it's grown on me over time. Again, it's about Sam, which means it's also about John and Dean. I liked Sam's voice in this, which felt much more realistic than some of the more emo versions that I've come across. In this, he does feel deeply, but he's also a Winchester, and the conflict that involves works incredibly well. Long, but worth the effort.

When Dean’s cassettes melt, Sam finds that he has to take desperate measures to give Dean back his music.
I love this kind of fic, that takes a 'what if' and spins it into a character study. Sam again, and a wonderful look at the friction between the brothers, as well as the affection.

I could give you the author's summary here, but for me, it spoils the wonderful opening lines. Just listen. But this one also comes with a NOT IN PUBLIC warning, only more so.

When I started listening to this, I hadn't checked the length, and was really pleased when it took a simple, one line idea and drew it out into a detailed and tender character study of Dean. This is Winchester family life, behind the scenes and pitch perfect.

Sam is off at college, John isn't answering his phone, and Dean's time is running out. Stanford-era AU.
I love adventure stories, and this one is awesome. As on the show, there were times when I wanted to shake the boys in frustration because OH GOOD GRIEF JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER, but that was actually one of the reasons I liked the story. Plus bonus Bobby!cameo, which is always welcome.

Dean never used to believe in faith healers, and the irony of this newfound ability is not lost on him, but he just tells Sam he's not getting himself a fucking tent or a ticket booth, so he'd better damn well not ask.
This is a slightly odd one, an AU from some point in the series, but it's a believable look at both Sam and Dean, and what Dean feels he has to do to justify his existence. There are no easy answers in this story, and that's one thing I love about it.

"If you lose your faith, babe, you can have mine; and if you're lost, I'm right behind. 'Cause we walk the same line."
This is another long one, but it's a good adventure and a great look at the stupid things the brothers will do for each other.

CRACK. Oh good grief, this is the good stuff. Also, mental images that you will *never* get rid of, I promise you.

twasadark's name crops up a lot in these posts. She's a great reader, but be warned that she often includes music at the beginning of stories. So don't panic thinking you've downloaded a music album by mistake!

Also, if you are feeling up for some SGA crack podfic,

Heh, I know the stories you mean, and it might be heresy, but they honestly don't do much for me. But everyone needs a happy place, and so glad you got yours :D
