It's possible that I had things to tell you, but I'm having an up-and-down day and can't seem to string two thoughts together. So instead of actual content, I thought I'd dig up an oldie but a goodie. Last seen at
karaokegal's.
The Stump the Author Meme
A) Go to my fics (fandom tagged accordingly), and pick out a line or three from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please — no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
B) I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
C) A drabble (ficlet) to anyone who stumps me.
Anyone who wins a ficlet (and with my memory, that's not hard), I'll use your prompt for a
cliche_bingo square. My card is here, so feel free to suggest a specific cliche as well as a prompt word.
All my fic is here, and the list is even reasonably up to date. That doesn't happen very often...

Date: 2009-08-05 04:52 pm (UTC)Um *thinks*
I do sort of recognise it, but I'm damned if I know where from. Is it a Torchwood fic?
Gah.
Nope, no idea. I know it's mine (now) but no idea where from.
Name your price!

Date: 2009-08-05 05:02 pm (UTC)It's not a Torchwood fic, though. (Far from it.)
Name your price!
Oops. I didn't think this all the way through.

Date: 2009-08-05 05:24 pm (UTC)You win! Prompt me! it's not compulsory to select a cliche_bingo square unless you want to (and no, you're not allowed to say "the big bang" :P)

Date: 2009-08-05 05:26 pm (UTC)I PROMPT YOU TO WRITE ME ONE MEEEEELEEUN WORDS!
I think I want you to write for the crackfic square. You possibly don't want me to prompt you, because you know how I get.
(no subject)
Date: 2009-08-05 05:28 pm (UTC)And a prompt would actually be kind of helpful, if you happen to have one lying around. It's a while since I really went all out on the crack!fic front, and I'm a little rusty.

Date: 2009-08-05 06:25 pm (UTC)I won't make you do a Petting Zoo AU. But I thought about it.
Okay, here you go: "coffee run", whether as the phrase or two separate words. Whatever fandom, the crackier the concept, the better.

Date: 2009-08-05 05:49 pm (UTC)I'd love to play this game, but even though my memory is bad, I've written probably <4K words and most of the fics are in very strongly different voices. Perhaps in another year I'll have more of a varied selection *looks on at her pile of 'I wish I were writing these fics instead of doing obligations'*
Is 'Journeys and Quests' and 'paint' enough of a prompt?

Date: 2009-08-05 05:51 pm (UTC)Those are perfect prompts, thanks. I'm not sure the story will be SGA, but I have an inkling of what I'm going to do with it.
Thank you!

Date: 2009-08-05 07:11 pm (UTC)When you start trying to work these things out by logical deduction rather than knowing, you know you're in trouble ;) Probably House or Torchwood...could be either House or Jack...
Damn. Coming up blank here...
I've got a lot of writing to do! Choose your

Date: 2009-08-05 07:17 pm (UTC)The line is from "Looking In" the House/Cam you wrote for the Halloween Party.
Soooooo....I'd like House MD-Chase/Cuddy-Babysitting (or something about Cuddy's baby.) Gen is fine, since I know you prefer that.
(no subject)
Date: 2009-08-05 07:26 pm (UTC)Uh. You do know I've only seen the first two seasons of House, right? So I can do you babysitting, but anything more specific is kind of out of my reach...

Date: 2009-08-05 07:33 pm (UTC)Can I have something House/Chase post-The Mistake. (Maybe House's feelings on Chase's first day back from suspension?)

Date: 2009-08-05 07:37 pm (UTC)THAT I can definitely do, definitely. And I can also get a cliche_bingo square out of it, so I'm happy. Should be in the next few days :)

Date: 2009-08-05 07:40 pm (UTC)I wish I could tell you in good conscience to get caught up, but I can't. I think S3 has some worthwhile stuff, especially the first half, and at least one great Piano-gasm in Half-Wit, but I have absolutely no use for most of Seasons 4 & 5. Which makes me sad, because I loved this show so much.

I suck at this, don't I? Do you think we'd better check if I actually wrote the damn things?
Damn. Not even got the foggiest on that one. Prompt away!

Date: 2009-08-05 08:32 pm (UTC)Unless it's a quotation of dialogue, or at least something that names a character, it's always going to be tough ;)
No-one selected the 'fork in the road AU' square yet! \o/ So I'd like that cliche, with a prompt of... 'silver'. Fandom of your choosing, although if my icon were to be of any inspiration in selecting said fandom, that wouldn't be a bad thing :)
