I am immensely chuffed today as "Coming Back" has been recced on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van. It's so lovely - the list is full of great writers and I always bounce to see my name among them! My Housefic "They Also Serve" was recced there a while back, so I'm feeling rather proud of myself :) Now all I have to do is write a Criminal Minds one to match them... ;)

In a burst of creativity, I'm offering drabbles/ficlets to all requestors. Any fandom (see my interests list), any pairing. I'm rather bouncy as The Wandering Years stopped wandering and started behaving themselves so come share the bounciness! I don't promise they'll be the same quality as [livejournal.com profile] fallen_arazil's, but I can try. :)

Also, [livejournal.com profile] rivers_bend told us to consider ourselves tagged...

1. I can play both the descant and the treble recorders (not at the same time) to a fairly decent standard.

2. I can't wash my hair in the shower because I've got horribly sensitive skin and the shampoo makes me itch.

3. I used to be able to say thank you in 45 languages. I think I'm down to about 25 now.

4. I can type around 80 words a minute.

5. Baked beans make me feel sick.

6. I own a Beanie Buddy duck called Mr Pond, who lives on my computer hard drive at work. He was a 21st birthday present.

Like river, I hate tagging people, but love random facts, so post away!

Heh. I wasn't trying to be greedy, really, just thinking out loud.

*wipes forehead* Well that was a hell of a lot harder than expected. Remind me not to attempt either of these guys again – I don’t think they like me...

*posts quickly before I can change my mind*

Set directly after Nightwatch, probably in the same bar as "A few quiet drinks."

One-upmanship

"Revolution."

"War."

"Barricades."

"Reavers."

"History monks."

"Ooh, nice guys. Don't drink the yak butter tea. Um..." The man thought, swirling the water in his glass. "The end of the world."

"Really?"

"Well, the end of the planet, anyway."

"Oh." Vimes swigged his own water. "Tell me, is time travel ever dull?"

"Not that I've noticed."

"But what do you do when you get there?" Vimes asked. "All these different times and places."

The man looked at him properly for the first time, with eyes that were more ancient than Vimes could have imagined.

"The job that's in front of you."

Yay! *claps* That works for me. Makes sense that they'd compare notes on their time-traveling experiences. I wasn't even thinking about Vimes traveling through time when I mentioned him, I just absolutely love him.

Now I want to write something about the little history monk meeting up with the Tenth Doctor. But [livejournal.com profile] kalleah (I hope I've got that right) seems to have cornered the market on awesome monks at the moment. :)

Vimes is definitely the best developed Discworld character (although Moist Von Lipwig is my new favourite :)). And I tried every other conversation possible - this is the only one where they'd actually talk! Glad you like it :)

*toddles off to find monk-fic* :)
