Happy Mondays

Considering it's Monday and I felt like death warmed over when I got up, today is going surprisingly well.
~ I had the lurgy over the weekend, but still managed to have a nice weekend. We went to see a friend in Swindon and ended up having lunch at this pub, which was lovely. Very friendly, quite cheap and well-cooked, local food (apart from the fish, Wiltshire being landlocked an'all).
~ Despite still feeling rotten yesterday, I did manage to get things done. We also went and picked up my new bike \o/ It's a cheap little rusty thing from eBay, but it'll do nicely. Since we're due sunny weather this week, it seems like a good chance to get back into the habit of cycling to and from work.
~ I earned some extra cash last week, and spent the proceeds on Amazon. The parcel arrived this morning containing:
Stitch'n Bitch, the Happy Hooker
201 Crochet motifs and blocks
Cabaret CD and DVD
New electronic scales (to replace the ones I tried to cook)
The box is also the perfect size for my Ravelry yarn swap, so that's a nice added bonus.
~ I got lots of work done last Friday, and am getting more done this morning. That may not sound like much, but it's pretty huge for me.
~ It's sunny! *basks*
~ I got some good news that I wasn't expecting.
~ I got a flier for a party that made me smile. Last weekend, for Purim, the Jewish Studen Centre here in Oxford organised a Latin American themed party, "with samba & klezmer sound, South American food, drinks & fabulous feathers & costumes, megillah reading & hamantashen". With
purimgifts popping up all over my flist this morning (with all kinds of awesome works, go check it out!), it sounded like an awesome party/carnival/thing.
Oh, also, we have made this recipe 4 times now, and I think I could eat it 4 times a week and not get tired of it (we do it with egg fried rice rather than the lettuce etc). Utterly nom-worthy.
It might just be a good week after all...
