For the first time in a few years, my mother didn't text me to remind me to put the clocks forward. So, of course, we forgot, and I only realised when I rolled over, put the radio on and heard "this is the news at eight o'clock".

It's not too bad for me, since I knew I was going to be spending the morning curled up having some quality time with a hot water bottle, but the other half was distinctly underwhelmed. Still, I think he was only about half an hour late for church...

But I refuse to believe I'm the only one, hence the following poll:

[Poll #1162863]

In other news, Radio 4 listeners, if you haven't already, you have to listen to this. Tag line: Radio 4 news hit by giggling fit . Brilliant stuff. I've heard her crack up on the News Quiz before now, but it was hard to work out what set her off in that article. Apparently someone said that the featured recording sounded like a bee buzzing in a bottle. Why this was quite so hysterical, I have no idea, but it's a brilliant two minutes of radio :)

Other fun stuff I've seen lately includes:

A Joe Flanigan portrait at the About Face book project. (portfolio 3, picture 1) All the portraits are gorgeous, but I had it on slideshow and actually jumped when his came up. There's something about his expression in it that's really startling.

This story by [livejournal.com profile] xparrot. Even if you only have the vaguest awareness of Anne McCaffrey's 'Pern' novels, this is worth the read. The tone is so incredibly spot on, especially 'Shepparth'.

samantharichter's reading of 'They grip the ground' by giddygeek. It's possible that I'm becoming addicted to audiofic, but this is a great reading of a very funny story.

The Captain's Blog just keeps getting better. I must go through and copy them all into one document so I can find them when I want them. Whoever's writing it has the best job in television and I want it! *sulks*

Stories will start being posted to [livejournal.com profile] sga_genficathon tomorrow, so I definitely recommend adding it to your watch list. There's a startling lack of genfic in SGA (even Torchwood has more), so I can't wait! 55 stories! All Gen! Hoorah! I'd also love to know if anyone can spot my story - anyone who didn't see the accidentally unlocked first draft, that is...*facepalm*

Today's jobs include 2 lots of beta-ing, sorting out bank accounts, switching round icons (I want my 'Jack in chains' one back, as well as one that says 'hello'), trying to buy some glasses for both me and the other half, and seeing if my Big Bang story is actually dead or if something can be salvaged. But for now, the sun is shining and the flat is quiet, so I'm going to see if my throat will let me get some recording done. I might even consider getting dressed...

Have a good Sunday, everyone!

I forgot and thus completely missed a job I'd booked, but then I called to see how much shit I was in and it turned out they'd screwed up and left me off the list, so it was a good thing or I'd have had a wasted journey. Plus they paid my nonrefundable train fare. Which later turned out to be refundable after all. Cha-ching!
