jadesfire: Bright yellow flower (Writing - Mike swallowing books)
So. Monday, eh? What's with that?

In lieu of content, have some links:

Every day until the site goes live, [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang writers are giving previews of their work at the comm. Mine won't be til next week, but I thought I'd point it out for anyone who wants to make sure they don't miss a fic that would be perfect for them.

I've read some great SGA fic lately and keep forgetting to link to them. They're all happy stories, because that seems to be what I need at the moment:
Fics )
Anyone care to rec me good Torchwood fic? I've been doing that much writing lately, I haven't had the chance to wade through the newsletter to find good stuff.

And yes, in addition to the Big Bang, the Flashfic and the Audiofic recording, there's yet more output from me. Don't ask where it's all coming from.

For [livejournal.com profile] gateverse_remix:

Title: True Colours (The Mother's Love Remix)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808
Original story: Habits of a Lifetime by [livejournal.com profile] dossier
Fandom: SGA
Rating/Warnings: Gen/None
Words: 1,400
Notes: With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem, [livejournal.com profile] crystalshard and [livejournal.com profile] donutsweeper for help.

Summary: When Meredith is four, she buys him a Big Chief tablet

I'm thinking of writing some commentary-type stuff, maybe on the Big Bang pieces, or some meta-y stuff that's been bugging me lately. Except the only way I seem to be able to write at the moment is in stupidly intense bursts, rattling through 6,000 words in a day and not wanting to stop. I'm pretty sure it's avoidance behaviour, but it's...frustrating. The one meta I do definitely want to write is one about hypoglycaemia and SGA. I know of one fic that actually deals with it properly, and while I don't think it's a big thing, it's annoying to see something you know about done wrong.

*facepalm*

Should have added that [livejournal.com profile] leesa_perrie remixed my story Rise up and Fight as Survival 101.

I think she said at the time of the original that it would be interesting to get Rodney's POV on the story, so here it is! And I like how she used the same kind of structure as the original, and gave it a real claustrophobic sense that's very Rodney. Both Leesa and I are new to remixing, and I admit to serious nerves both about my own attempt and what was going to happen to one of my babies stories. It's good to see them up and published and know that there's nothing to be worried about :)
