So, after a period of emotional instability, my body decided that what it needed was physical instability, just so I had the full set. This would be how I fell over in the kitchen last night for no good reason. I just turned slightly and...went. *sigh* My husband was not impressed. Didn't do much for me, either. Since I got half-way down the road this morning and started to be hit by horrendous motion sickness - yes, just from walking along - I declared work a wash-out and came back to bed. Considering I then managed to feel motion-sick while lying down with my eyes closed, I think this was the best plan. I'm pretty sure that it's the result of exhaustion due to stress, which at least gives me a source if not a solution. We're working on that one - I'll keep you posted.

Given I had the whole day alone in the flat - although [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem dropped in via IM to cheer me up like usual :) - I'm feeling a bit restless and ansty. Combined with my complete inability to string two thoughts together, I'm getting frustrated, want to write and can't seem to. Therefore, I thought I'd fall back on my old favourite, the Time Stamp meme. There's a whole pile o'fic linked from the sidebar, so feel free to choose anything you like. I'm going to crosspost to [livejournal.com profile] heretoutopia, but do go for an SGA story if you'd rather. I can have a go at Housefic, but to say I'm a bit rusty would be an understatement...

Wording for anyone who wants to nick it:

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

Since I had to sit up to have lunch, I decided to record a couple of stories. One Torchwood, one Winnie the Pooh. Yes, really. Huge thanks to the authors as ever.

Also, PLEASE could someone else start recording some Torchwood fic, or encouraging people to cross-post to [livejournal.com profile] tw_audiofic? I seem to be the only one with time to record and post at the moment and I'm getting embarrassed about the number of times I've posted to the comm. If you see something in my TW collection that catches your eye, please drop me a line! I'd love for people to have a go at me stuff. It's really not as hard as it looks - if I can do it, anyone can... Obviously I've recorded some myself, and I'd like to record the main 'Sic Transit Tempus' stories at some point, but everything else? Just ask!

Winnie the Pooh fanfic??? *brain splodey*

Now for the important stuff - I want a ficlet please :D And at the risk of being predictable, I'm curious about the phone conversation between Richard and Scott after Waiting for Tomorrow (http://heretoutopia.livejournal.com/39895.html). So, um, like five minutes after that one, please *makes puppy eyes*

(This is partially to see what you do with Scott, shush, Ianto, I'm sure she'll let you have him back when she's done, but mostly because I fell in love with your Richard and want to see him again :))

And you need to go and see a doctor, hon. Keeling over is your body's way of telling you to slow the hell down *tries to look stern* *fails*

Hee. It's a lovely, lovely story and well worth the listen/read.

Bless you - flattery will get you everywhere. It'll be short, but I'll see what I can do. I might even see if I can use that icon as inspiration :)

Yeah, I know, I know. But we've got a holiday in a couple of weeks, and I can sleep all I like then. And I'm 99% sure it's stress related, so once all that's out the way, I'll be fine. But if it goes on, I'll see the doctor, I promise *scout's honour*

oooh, the timestamp meme!!!

My problem with this meme is I go looking for the correct title to something and wind up spending hours rereading all the stories.

What about a Coda to Coda?

*snerk* sorry. But I always wanted to know how pissed Jack really was (or how forgiving) about being made to leave Auckland when he really didn't want to

or is you wanted more ideas for Hugh- what about a "Five ways Jack came to the rescue" the coffee one (Hugh rescuing him) a few hours later?

or (hey, I'm predictable)- three hours after Waiting? (Or a few hours before)

Ooh- OR *makes puppydog eyes* what about a follow up to your TW/Buffy crossover?

anywho *offers donuts in hopes of cheering you up some* (and raises fist at stupid userpics that won't behave)

*giggle* You don't want much, do you? Flattered as I am, I'll have to take these one at a time and see what happens. I kind of want to tackle the first one in the first 'Watching Years' story, but...hmmm...this might be a good excuse to start that...

As for the others, I'll get to them if I have time :)

Winnie the Pooth slash??? *breaks*

Sickness sucks, even worse when it's stomping on your muse. Hopefully a little sleep will be what the doctor ordered.

I'll play your timestamp game though, Mr. Bond...

How about a timestamp for "Some Assistance Required", after John leaves his quarters to go fetch some food?

Rule #34- if the fandom exists there is slash for it. (The world can be a very very scary place)

considering someone managed a SGA sock AU, I'm sure that could be done. Somehow.

Rule 34 scares me though. I spotted Loony Tunes slash the other day (Porky Pig slash) I did NOT I repeat NOT click the link. just NO

I'm physically restraining myself from writing one with them as slinkies (http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:8gvxun6NWiAJ:images.hobbytron.com/SS-100-lg.jpg). Because slinky slash is possibly more brain melting than ice cube slash.

Porky... Pig... slash... that hurts just thinking about it. And my god, why am I wondering if it was Duck Dodgers related? Brain bleach!

slinky slash. slinky slash! *cackles*

I don't think Duck Dodgers showed up. It's only my opinion, but any story with a m/m and m/p (man/pig) warning is one to be avoided at ALL COSTS

M/P warning? *iz ded*

And despite the fact that I really am a gen writer, there's something strangely alluring about slinky slash.

I'm mostly a gen writer myself, but I can't help cracking up over merely saying "Slinky Slash"

(apparently the Loony Tunes slash was written as a protest against the fact Comedy Central wouldn't air a certain Loony tunes cartoon for being too politically incorrect. I'm not quite following the author's logic)

Winnie the Pooh! You *have* been trolling for different fandoms, haven't you! I look forward to that. And to the Owen one, but considering the subject matter these two should be a good balance. :)

We're working on that one - I'll keep you posted.

Please! Falling over and motion sickness lying down don't sound good.

Yup, and having much fun with it. I'm finding some really great fic, as well as getting lots of points. The next stop is to find some good crossovers to play with :D

I'm pretty sure that it's stress related, so once I get an answer, I should get at least a little better, and the holiday will definitely help.

Ooooh, Timestamp meme. Um, ten minutes after What Not to Buy, please? I love that one.

Winnie the Pooh fic. That rocks.

*snort* That's a very kind offer, thanks :D I think at the moment it's best to do as much as I can for a couple of days then have a day or two off. I need to get through the work, because that's at least part of the cause of the stress... One of those fun vicious circle things.

*blinks* You didn't look at [livejournal.com profile] heretoutopia before requesting, did you? Because [livejournal.com profile] demotu requested "a snippet of the Gwen-Ianto conversation after What Not To Buy, so I suppose I could say 10 minutes after the end of the fic,". I guess I'll have to write that one then :D

It rocks indeed. It's a lovely, lovely story, and I squeaked happily when Loligo said I could record it :)

Ooh, yes, go see a doctor. Motion sickness while motionless sounds like labyrinthitis, which my son had once. It takes prescription drugs to get over that one.

That did occur to me, after reading [livejournal.com profile] rivers_bend's account of her nasty bout of labyrinthitis last year. I'm pretty sure this is stress and exhaustion - been here, done that, got the t-shirt - so I'm going to try easing up a bit, and the holiday should help a lot.

But I promise to go to the doctor if it gets worse. With you lot badgering mothering me, I don't think I've got much choice ;D

Hmm, I get a bit of that motion sickness thing with my sinuses - freaked me out completely for a year or two before I realised what it was. But yeah, stress/exhaustion is probably a likely cause too.

I'm going to make a request too. Because I seem to have an eternal fascination with the Year of Hell, and because I loved your version and want more of it: two months after Beating Time.

(Which means you can do pretty much anything you want, and any POV. I'm not fussy!)

Aw...I found it a bit freaky, TBH, but since my recorded voice sounds absolutely nothing like the voice I hear when I speak, I found it easier to distance myself.

My hi-tech equipment consists of a £3 microphone from teh intarnet and a handkerchief draped over it to get rid of explosive plosives :) It's quite fun when you get into it!
