Two slightly longer pieces, and in complete contrast. If you haven't read either of them, go do so, even if you're not into Audiofic.

Sadly I have lost the 30 second outtake where I couldn't breathe for laughing. Seriously, you try saying some of this without cracking up. :D

OMG thank you so much! And yay! And I am five minutes in and cannot stop smiling!

And wow, that was a challenging story - I didn't realize just how much I rely on italics, which you handled very well, by the way! I can't wait to hear the gold song :-)

ETA: ooh, Kaylee's parentheses were perfect! And you make a great Jayne! Awesome & lol, thank you :-)

*beams* I had such a blast with this - you were right about it working for my accent! But I had to break off at one point to laugh for about a minute, then I had to stop to try and breathe again...

I think I'm finding the key to these is to not be self-conscious, and just record it as I think it should sound. Really glad that worked! Yay :D Thank you!

No later than usual! I think my official start time should be 9:15 instead of 9... seriously, I get there on time probably on an average of once a week. *shakes head*

Anyway, snagging so I can listen to this on the way to work tomorrow! Hee!

I'm pretty sure a bunch of people on the tram this morning got the impression that I was nuts. And I think I might have burst my spleen or something trying not to LOL too much in public. OMG, that was awesome!

OOK!!! Heee!! And the Chinese also sounded like FF Chinese, heee! Jayne Singing! You Singing Jayne's Singing... oh, you know what I mean! Gold gold gold!!

MADE OF AWESOME!!!

Isn't a wonderful story? I had to literally stop, laugh and get my breath back in the middle of it.

I'm so glad the Chinese sounded right - I tried to imitate the show, and was just grateful there were only a few words...

Yay! Thank you!

The Chinese sounded like... well, Not!Chinese, or maybe I should say FF-verse Chinese, which is not RL Chinese. I've got this whole rational about how FF-verse is in the future, and the language evolved. It's kinda like present day English has nothing similar at all to Old English, hence today's Chinese is like Old Chinese to them, and they're speaking Future Chinese which we all do not understand... If that made any sense at all!

Since I do speak Chinese, I had to go back to the fic to see what was actually written, and that didn't made much sense either until I read the translation, which weren't quite right either... so yeah, Future Chinese. LOL!

*g* yeah, I get the feeling that they play pretty fast and loose with the language. Do you understand the spoken Chinese in Firefly? Since I can only say "Thank you" and "Hello" in Chinese, I went very much for FF-verse Chinese.

Future Chinese sounds like as good an explanation as any. Although it's got me wondering...does FF get exported to Chinese-speaking countries? And if so, what do they dub the Chinese as...

I get bits and pieces of it if they get close enough. The only one that didn't required repeated viewing was "Dong Ma" which they got right. ;) I had tried to figure all of them out but finally just gave up. This also probably mean I can never read FF audiofics with Chinese in them, since I'll do proper Chinese and they'd be non-FF-verse canon complaince Chinese! LOL!

Oh dear lord, i don't even want to think about it! I saw a poster for Torchwood somewhere with Chinese subtitles, they literally translated the title as "Torch Wood Small Group/Team" which just had me howling with laughter.

There is a handy site somewhere with all the Chinese spelled out phonetically and translating what they were at least trying to say... I'd be very scared to tackle something with more Chinese than this, even with FF-Chinese.

*giggle* Oh dear...some things really do get lost in translation, don't they?

Oh, thank you! That was just beautiful. I've said this before, but it is very true: I never get the same feeling that a reader has from one of my own stories until I hear you read it. You make my own work fresh and new to me, and it's an amazing, very moving feeling.

Oh, yay! I was a bit worried about it, especially that I'd pronounced bits wrong, or not caught House's voice (he's a tricky so and so). So, so glad it worked, and that it made it fresh for you. Thanks!

Yay! I don't know House well, but I'm going to give this one a go; you always choose good stories and they're a pleasure to listen to. And Firefly/Discworld - I didn't know my life was missing this until now!

Also. OMG you're one point away from 1st place in the Amplificathon standings!

"Pesach" has long been a favourite, so it was both nerve-wracking and brilliant to get to record it. The other is in complete contrast and had me cracking up at the microphone - I had to edit out about 90 seconds of giggling :)

And I KNOW! Hopefully I can make a go of the 28-point story, which should give me the edge. This challenge really seems to be bringing out my competitive streak...
