Apropos to nothing: I'm wearing a heavy, ankle length skirt today, which means that when I climb stairs, I have to lift it up. This makes me feel like an elegant 18th Century Lady instead of my usual klutzy self. *silly grin*

Apropos to my being a sheep (baaaa): Meme picked up from [livejournal.com profile] nnwest. You have over 85,000 words to choose from...

Stump the writer!

A -- go to the list of my fic (links are here) and pick out a line or three from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
B -- I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
C -- House Points and a drabble to anyone who stumps me.

Offering drabbles in Torchwood, Doctor Who (any), House, Criminal Minds, Star Trek (TNG/DS9), SG1, Sapphire and Steel, Blakes 7 or Buffy. Do your worst!

You you with your elegant lady self! XD

That is an AWESOME meme. I would suck at it, as I mostly have forgotten what I've written, but I might have to try it out. I must go to the doctor's now, but I shall try to find you a line when I get back.

*grin* *ladylike smile* ;) It's much fun, sweeping around the library. should do it more often...

I'm slightly nervous as to how much of my stories I can remember, but not too nervous as I like writing drabbles!

Hope the doctor's went ok. BTW, love the new icon :)

Yeah, and maybe Julie would be waiting for him at home with a pot roast and a smile.

here you go.

and I almost commented on the fic, which would rather have given the game away.

I nearly did that for other people - but I've discovered some great stories that I hadn't read, so I'm not complaining.

As for mine, how can I remember writing it (and liking it) and not remember where I wrote it???

Ummmmm...narrowed it down to two...ummmm....*resists urge to cheat*

Yours, mine and his?

I get a drabble? Do I get to pick the drabble? if so, can I choose a Willow drabble?

Okay, that was harder than it looked...can I have marks for speed, rather than quality? And why are drabbles always in the present tense? *shakes head* Very strange.

Exactly 100 words, set in my "Undead" universe. Apologies for crossover-ness, but my brain is in TW mode at the moment.

The Question

"You ask him."

"Why me?"

"It was your idea."

"No it wasn't!" Willow pauses. "Okay, so it was, but you agreed."

They both look across the Magic Box. He's standing by the bookshelves, a thoughtful look and wistful smile on his face.

Willow turns back to Tara, giving her a nervous smile. " I'm going to do it."

Tara reaches out, squeezes her hand. "Are you sure?"

"Wish me luck."

"For us both." They exchange a hopeful kiss and Willow makes her way towards him, clearing her throat to attract his attention.

"Giles? Did Jack leave you his phone number?"

How about...

"I've got a good team," Jack said, standing up. "They wouldn't let me go that easily. I agree. Let's go."

*grin* That's from "Prices". I seem to have a better memory for Torchwood than I do for House, which considering I wrote it more recently, is reassuring...

Shucks!

Well done, my dear. Guess you won't be drabbling Jack for me. :D

My email server's playing tricks on me - sorry if you get this twice *thwacks computer*

You're welcome to try another! I'm still rummaging through yours and seti_drd's back catalogues - If I have to write a drabble, so do you :P

Somehow, "drabbling Jack" sounds a whole lot dirtier than it should...the Harkness effect strikes again ;D

*dirty giggle* This is the same effect that makes my spell-checker want to replace 'Harkness' with 'Hardness' every single time.

Do you think I'm going to get fired for getting hopeless giggles in the middle of the workroom? :D

This is so neat! I've swiped it for myself. It also made me go back and add up my fic wordcount, and WHOA! I had to guesstimate for my first two stories, because I didn't put a wordcount on those, but still. That's a lot of words. :)

As for your fic...hmmm...

House gives him a calculating look, which Wilson ignores, as he brings the tea through. He didn’t want to talk about it before. Still doesn’t.

Well, you have got NLC in there which is, what? 35k? Pretty good start, and the numbers get scary quickly, don't they?

Hmmmm...You know, I really need to re-read my Housefic, don't I? I think this is from "New Jersey Tea Ceremony". After all the hot drinks that get drunk in NLC, I should have known you'd pick that one ;)

*trots over to see what I can find for you*

Okay, here ya go:

He stepped back again, standing a more normal distance away and giving Giles a slight nod and an obviously amused grin. Game over.

Good luck!

*grin* Now that one, I know. It's the first bonus track from "Undead". "Books" I think it's called - with Jack and Giles.

I didn't know you'd read it :) I've been pleasantly surprised at how well I've done on these - I guess I know my own work better than I think. Of course, there's the advantage that no-one could face ploughing through "The waiting years"... ;)

I did read it, but I couldn't review cos my computer started doing silly things. I really liked it though, and have vowed to read all your stories!
