It is possible that this video saved my sanity today. No kidding. Bad morning. Happy lunch hour.

She should know already, but go tell [livejournal.com profile] crystalshard how hard she rocks. Just click the vid to go to the YouTube page

[Unless...Chrys, if you spot this and want to put a public entry some place for folk... ;)]

I'm going to be singing this all afternoon...

You guys are a)brilliant and b)nuts. You did know I'd be reading what you wrote, right? ;D Despite your best efforts, none of you managed to actually break the form (no, not even with your essay, Fish ;)) and the results are showing up beautifully. I'm having geekgasms over how easy Google have made it to create these things and get the answers out. Googledocs->Create New->Form. That's it. I'd totally recommend it for ficathons and similar - it'll save hours of typing! \o/

I've been prodding at words and ideas for a few days, but nothing's really sticking, so I think I need some help. Reading my old stuff both helped and hindered. Helped because hey, I used to be able to turn out a not-too-shabby story or two. Hindered because hey, am I ever going to be able to do that again? It's feeling less and less likely as time goes on. I have some prompts owed from a meme a while back, but nothing's working right now on those. So, as ever, I'm turning to the trusty Timestamp meme:

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

Yes, I did used to write fic, remember? It feels like a long time ago now. Most of it is here or on my fic tag. If you *really* want to help, I could use Torchwood, Doctor Who, Criminal Minds or Jack (including Sic Transit Tempus) requests, but I'm open to all suggestions!

I'll take the first ten and see what I can do with them. Thanks, guys!

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] topaz_eyes, [livejournal.com profile] xparrot and AnonyMouse for my snowflake cookies. My stomach is quite upset at the moment, so the virtual kind are ideal. Especially since all we have here right now is much rain and gloom, they were a sparkly treat to wake up to :)

It's almost 3pm here and we haven't seen the sun all day. It feels more like 6pm and I'm ready to go home, not work 2 more hours. *sobs*

I often despair of humanity, but I should remember not to click links that make that worse, especially when I'm like this. The current battle is to not go and empty the vending machine of mars bars, but to have a banana, a decent coffee *hugs cafetiere* and get some work done so that I don't feel the day has been a complete waste.

The irony is, of course, that I have achieved things today, just...not that I can remember.

*sigh* Come on folks, what are you up to? Tell me what you've achieved today - I need some hope here!

It really shouldn't surprise me that my flist has an endless supply of funny, crazy and generally happy-making videos and websites. If anyone else needs cheering up, I can't recommend the comments on this post highly enough, and I haven't even finished working through all of them myself.

Things are much better today - the worst thing with the hormonal stuff is that I just don't care about anything. I know I should, but I don't, and I end up just spiralling down and down and down, not doing anything, not caring that I'm not doing anything, then getting furious at myself for not caring, which just drives me further into myself and... Well. You get the idea.

But my brain is crawling back to what it calls normal and with a long day ahead of me (I'm working til 7 tonight), I hope to get lots done on all fronts. No list, because I have one in pretty colours sitting on my desk, and I'm just going to pick things at random and achieve them.

Thanks, folks. You rock and I couldn't do it without you.

Very quick drive-by question:

My other half is about to spend 2 nights in Berlin, but because he's only taking hand-luggage, he won't be able to take a razor. I've found in the past when travelling that you can't make assumptions about what's sold where so I've got 2 questions for you:

- What kind of shop does he buy one in? What will be on the sign? (this sounds silly, but I've been tripped up by it before...)
- What's the German for razor? Just in case he can't see them and needs to ask!

Thanks!
