I may well regret making this private rant public, but I've tidied up the typing (although at least one typo will remain, I guarantee it), but it's this or cataloguing. Plus ranting is good for the spleen. Or something.

I had a slightly different reaction to Utopia from most people...( Cut for spoilers (duh) )

I have mixed feelings about the Olympics coming to London in 2012. On the one hand, we hardly ever win anything, so it makes a nice change. On the other, it's going to be an utter disaster, financially and logistically.

And then there's the logo. Which looks like this. Now, it doesn't take much imagination to conjure up all kinds of interpretations for this image, which is frankly embarrassing, especially since it cost £400,000 to develop. I didn't even notice, until it was pointed out, that it's kind of made up of "2012" and a map of London. Kind of.

The really, really bad thing is that there have been some really good amateur ones posted in the last few hours (this one in particular), that look soooo much better than the real thing.

There are days when it's just too humiliating. I shall be wearing dark glasses for the next week...

EDIT 16:26: blow me, if I didn't just hand the bloomin' thing in! Hoorah! It's done, gone, out of the way and forgotten. I've only got my dissertation left to do, but I'm going to give my brain the week off before worrying about that.

EDIT 15:11: well, I didn't think I was ever going to get to the word limit, and now I'm 154 words over. Woo-hoo! Cookies, ice-cream and shortbread greatly appreciated, thanks. I'm sharing them with the other half who's done much of the editing (thanks, hon!) and I'm now off to ~~invent~~ write up my bibliography. :D

Pass the scissors someome?

London is seriously scary on Bank Holidays. It's like 28 Days Later (not that I've seen it...) - who stole all the people?

I could grumble about the weather (how cold?), the rain (waterproof shoes are fine until you manage to splash water inside them) and that hardship of getting up at 6am on a holiday (:S)

However, I shall limit most of it to complaining about coffee ( cut because I got a bit carried away... )

On the plus side, I am the proud owner of 4 tickets to see Wicked! on 4th August (hoorah!). Chrys, I'll email you :)

On the down side, I'm stuck at college today trying to get my wretched coursework finished. All encouragement, threats, hugs, prods and virtual cookies gratefully received, and will be thanked with the ficlet of your choice :) Wish me luck...
