Oh dear...
Apr. 11th, 2008 09:36 pmI should know better. This is what happens when you introduce your husband to icanhascheezburger then let him watch Doctor Who. Then show him how to find roflbot.
( Spoilers (sort of) for 'Partners in Crime' )
Ooh, also just to mention: More audiofic!
Aer Marina by
crystalshard, which is one of my all time favourites, and not just because it was written for me! The only reason it didn't make my Desert Island list was that I wanted to take one of her longer stories to pass the long nights :D And I now have a page here at Jinjurly's wonderful audio archive, which I really can't rec enough...

Apr. 9th, 2008 07:21 pm...but just to say that I've posted 2 fics to
amplificathon. It's taken me longer than I'd hoped, thanks to a severe case of nerves, for some reason.
They are:
One Door Closes by
travels_in_time (Doctor Who, Jack; Gen)
Coffee With Lucifer (#7) by
pwcorgirl (Torchwood, Jack; Gen)
Both links go to the
amplificathon entries. More to follow!

I was going to make this shorter, but I have too many thoughts. But I kept it under 1600 words and used headings to keep things moving in more or less a straight line. Go me.
Contains spoilers for Doctor Who, Torchwood, Stargate: Atlantis Season 4, fairy tales, Greek mythology and the Bible.
I have been seduced by the shiny that is Firefly, but together with this week's SGA episode, it's triggered a rather odd train of thought, bringing into focus something that I've been interested in for a while. There's no big argument here and no profound point to make. It's more of a series of observations that have been gathering weight in my mind. If anyone spots a higher meaning, please point it out to me. Otherwise, please keep your arms and legs inside the car and enjoy the ride.
( I was going to call this 'what's in a name?' but decided it was too cheesy even for me (yes, that's possible) )
( And this was the actual point of the ramble – Spoilers for SGA 4x14 'Harmony' )

Jul. 20th, 2007 05:37 pmDoctor Who S2 blooper reel
I know everyone else in the world has seen it before, because some of the shots come up in people's icons, but it's going to make me smile for a long time yet. With the weather out there, I needed the laugh :D

Fic: The Doldrums
Jul. 6th, 2007 09:41 pmYou might want to make a note of this. I almost never write fluff. Almost never. But the weather (amongst other things) has been really, really getting to me lately, and I know there's a few people on my flist having a much tougher time of it than me at the moment.
So this is for you. And me.

Just heard on the radio, for anyone who might be interested:
"Martha from Doctor Who is on Christian's breakfast show tomorrow."
That's Christian O'Connell's show, Virgin Radio tomorrow morning. It's available on the internet (how I listen at work) but it didn't say what time. The show's on from 6am til 10am (UK time) - I'll try and listen at 6 when I get up and find out what time she's on :)
Worth cross-posting? If it is, please could someone else do it, as I'm leaving the computer soon!

In an effort to stave off the brain-numbing boredom (see below), I've been listening to the radio comedy "Rigor Mortis" which is set in a pathology lab and stars Peter Davison. The episode is built on the idea that people aren't dying, and so the staff are all slowly going crazy with boredom. I empathise.
Anyway, the line that has got me squeeing to new, hypersonic levels?
PETER DAVISON: "I can’t take much more of this. I am being diminished, whittled away, piece by piece. A doctor is the sum of his contributions to humanity, you know. A pathologist even more so."
There's not a giggle from the audience, so I can only assume they've never seen "The Five Doctors".
Me? I think I broke my chair...

Quick Utopia Reaction
Jun. 17th, 2007 08:00 am[I'm typing quickly before heading out to church, so I make no promises about sequence of thought or lack of typos]
I had a slightly different reaction to Utopia from most people...
( Cut for spoilers (duh) )
